International economic activities is an important factor for the development of the whole country and its regions. Trade liberalization and integration not only lead to a change in the world economy centers, but also cause significant shifts in the national economy. In this connection, the question about the forecast change in the level of the regions’ social and economic development arises. The goal of this paper has been to determine the relationship between a region’s integratedness in the system of international relations and the level of its social and economic development. The research results will be of interest for the researchers studying regional economies, as well as to the professionals developing and implementing the social and economic development programs of the regions.
