The article outlines the prerequisites of the need to train professionals in project management. It describes the development of education in project management in accordance with the four stages of business education in Russia. It examines various certifications of project managers and their implementation in the labor and design market.

► the IPMA Delta model established in 2010 to certify companies is in great demand and used to assess not only individual expertise of managers, but also the willingness of the whole company to implement the project
► in practice, real-world experience is more valuable than even an international certificate
