Abstract:

The article contains analytical results concerning effectiveness of foreign and Russian periodical publications’ usage by researchers of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (UB RAS). Research has been made for studying information requirements of users in print publications and optimisation of acquisition process. Results of the research have enabled finding prior and new directions of acquisition, analysing users’ requirements in print publication and specifying the thematic and typological plan of the UB RAS’ Central Scientific Library in accordance with relevant information requirements of UB RAS’ researchers.
