Abstract:

The present work gives the experience of creation of the international scientific journal that showed relatively high scientometric parameters according to Web of Science global citation index data. Moreover, it also discusses prospects of the open access within the framework of the experience that is unique for the Russian Federation. It considers advantages and disadvantages of suchpublication process organisation system, as well as ways of increasing international scientific journals’ scientometric parameters. Finally, it evaluates the potential of creation of such scientific editions in view of growing need to extensively stimulate development of Russian science. The author gives thanks to Professors S.G. Vorsanova and Yu.B. Yurov for productive cooperation duringthe work on Molecular Cytogenetics journal. The scientific and research and bibliographic activity in the author’s laboratory is partially being performed by means of Russian Scientific Fund’s grant (project No 14-15-00411).
