Abstract:

The article describes the estimation and selection criteria as well as the categories of the journals used in the competition for state support of the programs for developing and promoting the journals in international informationdatabases, mainly in the global citation indexes Web of Science and Scopus. The competition was held within the framework of the project “Developing and implementing the instruments for demonstration and popularisationof scientific research and technical works and achievements in education and science” which is a part of the federal targeted programme “Research and development in the priority fields of the scientific and technologicalcomplex of Russia for 2014-2020.” The criteria used for the examination and selection of the development programs are based, mainly, on the requirements which the international information databases impose for journals. The authorsalso present in detail the special informational system elaborated for conducting the selection.
