The problem of plagiarism is actively being discussed inacademic and administrative circles. However, a similarsounding phenomenon of self-plagiarism has not achieved theproper disclosure, although it is widespread in the scientificcommunity(both global and domestic). In this article we willattempt to examine the nature of self-plagiarism, identify thereasons behind its existence, and describe ways to deal with it.
