The relevance of the formulated topic – “Decrease of the Economic Risks in the Railroad Freight Activities” – consists in the fact that the share of this type of merchandise distribution amounts to about 80% in our country. Therefore, it is obvious that minimization of all risk categories (including the economic ones) at railway transportations is a factor determining the efficiency of this industry, as well as of all the related industries. Practical significance of the research material presented in the article consists in the fact that the use of modern logistics tools at the performance of railway transportation turns out to be an objective imperative of our time: these mechanisms have already proven to be efficient among other mechanisms of realization of merchandise distribution and commodity traffics.
