The article describes the application of project management in the public administration system in today’s Russia. The authors defined the main trends and specifics of project management public sector of the Russian Federation. They described the existing trends of project management in the public sphere. They designated place and role of project management on the implementation of government programs. They examined the methods of implementation of project management in the public sector.
