The article contains the analysis of condition and ways of development of the recruitment business in the city of Yekaterinburg. The results of the authors’ research conducted by the method of telephone survey are presented, as well as the results of an online study of the real situation: which registered agencies actually work and have the active contact information and the website. Based on the information about the annual rating of the city’s recruitment agencies given on the website “Delovoy Kvartal”, the authors analyzed the dynamics of the main quantitative and qualitative economic indicators of the leading agencies in the business recruitment market. Moreover, the authors used the method of benchmarking to compare the activities of recruitment companies and calculated the contribution of each recruitment agency into decreasing of the unemployment level in the city. The causes of some negative tendencies and prospects of the recruitment market development in the city were found out.
