This article reviews special features and risks of investment financing in Russian car-maintenance companies. Based on the analysis conducted, the conclusion has been drawn concerning expedience of private investment development and more active use of debt financing on the Russian freight car-repair market. The article shows that such factors as the high density of rolling stock owners and the market opacity are negative factors for attraction of the private capital to car-maintenance companies.
