Abstract:

The article presents an overview of Russian scientific publications that analyze the monetary policy of The Bank of Russia and central banks of the CIS countries at the present stage. The main approaches to this issue have been described as well as various points of view of Russian economists as for the causes of the currency depreciation observed in the developing countries and possible consequences and efficiency of the intervention policies pursued by the central banks.
