The article discusses the challenges of formation of the information society and analyzes its current state in the developed, developing, and underdeveloped countries. The author has identified and justified eight global problems which had appeared as the result of development and use of modern information and communication technologies. He also analyzes the Trans-Eurasian Information Super Highway that creates opportunities for solution of the existing problem of digital difference.
