Abstract:

The article analyses the structure and modern trends in development of hi-tech clusters on the example of medical equipment production cluster in Finnish province. Such clusters are viewed as the base for innovative activity in the region. On the base of “creation of value” chain analysis the author gives criteria of marking out the elements of hi-tech clusters. Structural and functional scheme of cluster development, basic functions of the elements within the cluster system and the peculiarities of cluster development within the regional economy are described in the article.
