Contemporary banking sector of the Udmurt Republic is a highly complex combination of banks of different sizes and business specialties. The article examines the experience of the regional banks in the context of competition with federal banks, and the universalization of banking activities. The author shows that the key success factors of the regional bank in the post-crisis period are its internal capabilities, the ability to respond to the actions of competitors and quickly change the product line of customer service.
