Abstract:

The contemporary innovations of the Russian payment system are similar to the world process in many respects. The basis of these innovations is the operation of the objective economic law where the nature of the production relations (including monetary ones) must correspond to the increased level of the development of production forces – the progress of information and computer technologies. In accordance with this, the article discusses the categories of "electronic money" and "plastic card," their main types, as well as their distinct advantages.
