In today’s economic situation under the influence of the political situation in the country it is especially topics the development and the implementation of innovations in retail trade. Features of the functioning sphere of retailing is now mostly to respond to external challenges on time by analyzing sales compared to the same periods of last years to include new trade tools such as internet sales, a flexible range of change, strengthening in the target audience of consumers etc. The author of the present article considers the assessment of the development potential of innovations in the Russian retail commercial system. This will ensure an overall estimation of the state of retail trading and substantiation of ways of its further development.
