The article deals with questions of economic security of national economy and the whole country in modern conditions. The author investigates terms of economic security, national economy and its basic elements which are exposed to different threat agents under the conditions of economic mechanisms transformation, the development of market relations and widening of integration channels. Important aspects of isolated countries economic security are analyzed; Special place is taken by Russia and Azerbaijan. Their main directions of economic security enforcement are found out. The author makes a number of conclusions and gives recommendations as the result of undertaken study.
