The article discusses the approaches to the definition of the term “globalization”. The authors discovered the essence of globalization processes, which reinforce the imbalance of development of national economies. The authors have identified the constituent elements of the globalization process. The authors have identified the role of multinational companies in the international economy. The authors have set the threats of globalization, which have a destructive influence on the economy of developing countries and third world countries, who directly depend on foreign trade policies of developed countries.
