Study submitted to the reader deals with the issues of food supply of the regions as a way to achieve their self-development and self-sufficiency. The main topic is the analysis of trends towards food self-sufficiency of the Kemerovo region. The level of its self-sufficiency in terms of basic foodstuffs is calculated, the position in the competitive environment of the surrounding regions is determined. The article states the lack of food self-sufficiency.
