The paper presents the idea that in order to prevent a serious economic crisis in Russia, the government efforts should be focused on the development of the domestic market. To achieve the goal it is necessary to work on reducing the huge gap existing between the rich and the poor. It is also necessary to develop the main manufacturing industries: housing and road construction, metallurgy, agriculture, mechanical engineering and mining. Their recovery can give a multiplying effect.
