Abstract:

The paper is a comparative study of small and medium business in Russia and Germany, whose purpose is to reveal factors that hinder their development in Russia. The material for analysis is provided by documents of the Federal Statistics Office of Germany and the Russian Federal State Statistics Service, which contain comparable figures. Such analysis reveals the problematic areas in business and helps to define the major ways of improving the business climate in Russia.
