The article raises the issue of the underprivileged position of agricultural producers under the new market conditions: the purchase prices for agricultural produce are dictated by the processing companies and market monopolists. As a result, the major proportion of the profit from the sold agricultural goods does not go to those, who produced them. The writers argue that a way out of this is to fix prices for agricultural goods to be guaranteed, and introduce privileges and preferences for the agricultural producers.
