The article examines the state of the fisheries complex in the Kamchatka Region and considers the problems hampering its development. The main issues are connected with the lack of investments into the modernization of its fixed assets and, as a consequence, the export of the biological resources caught in Kamchatka to foreign countries without processing them in the local plants. This turns into the region's social and economic problems. The author proposes ways to solve them.
