Abstract:

The author examines the problems of transaction costs in relation to the Russian banking system. He gives a classification and describes the approach to quantitative measurement. The understanding of transaction costs is expanded: the author considers them not only as costs that should be minimized, but also as the key source of income for Russian banks.
