Scientific and production enterprises of the mechanical engineering industry carry out research and development (R&D). However, they are not always successful. In this case, it is important to promptly decide on further actions – whether to continue R&D or postpone this activity until better times, adjust parameters or simply close the project? The authors of the article propose to solve these issues taking into account their recommendations related to the use of «archive of accumulated experience” and mitigate risks through timely and correct management.
