The author considers knowledge management as a new scientific discipline, closely related to other sciences. However, knowledge management has a pronounced practical side, and is interconnected with strategic management. The essence of such management lies in creating and implementing company’s ability to derive economic benefit from knowledge as from assets. Focusing on this principle can change organization’s strategic paradigm.
