The article considers approaches to identifying the modern regional economic agglomerations as the subjects of the market self-organization. It is not only the first step towards creating territorial industrial clusters, but also to building a new, more advanced economic structure of all Russian regions on the basis of interbranch integration of economic entities, their market self-organization and solution of the social and economic problems. Ultimately it should lead to the synergistic development of the national economy as a whole.
