Abstract:

The author critically examines the mechanisms of compensating for financial losses of the investment activity subjects, institutional and private investors in different countries in case of losses due to bankruptcy of market operators. The author gives practical advice on testing the compensation tools in the form of compensation payment funds on the basis of self-regulatory organizations in Russia. This would increase confidence in the stock market and strengthen the role of self-regulatory organizations in terms of risk-oriented supervision and nongovernment public control.
