Abstract:

In the past few years the popularity of ETF, the first of which was established in 1993 on the American Stock Exchange (AMEX) on the S & P 500 index, is growing rapidly. According to BlackRock Investment Company the number of ETF in the world grew up to 2560 by the middle of 2011, their shares are traded on 46 exchanges, and the total volume of assets is about 1.370 trillion dollars. Why do many market analysts argue that ETFs pose a risk to the global financial system at present?
