The article is devoted to the ethical foundations of the traditional market economy. The author examines their significance in terms of leveling the cyclical crisis development. He contrasts the ethical standards of traditional economy with the ones of the modern market economy. The author assesses the possibility of forming ethics-oriented economy today. The findings of such economists and sociologists as W. Sombart, A. Rich, P. Ulrich, as well as Pope Benedict XVI are used in the article.
