The article suggests an approach to the definition of "enterprise’s efficiency" on the basis of the life-cycle theory. To establish a clear link between the company’s goals and effectiveness of its activities, the author identifies two concepts: "effectiveness of the state" and "efficiency of processes”. She considers a change in the enterprise’s efficiency determined by the combination of effectiveness of the state and efficiency of processes at different stages of the life cycle.
