Analysis of conditions of business structures functioning in the Novgorod Region shows that along with some advantages, effective management decision making is limited by a number of factors, both internal and external. To expand the options for management decisions and thereby improve entrepreneurial efficiency some measures, aimed to maintain the optimal structure of the economy, should be taken. Such measures, according to the author, are anti-monopoly regulation, support of infrastructure projects, as well as the promotion of scientific and technical sphere and regional development programs.
