Insurance of agrarian risks in Russia is a relatively new phenomenon. Its formation in our country undergoes changes on the methodological, legal, organizational, economic and financial sides. Taking into account these circumstances it is necessary to consider the best practices of foreign countries when developing the promising directions of national systems of agricultural insurance.
