The author expresses the view that in order to develop domestic small businesses it is necessary to update the business environment. As suggested by the author, the main directions of such modernization are promotion of consumer demand, creation of information system for small business entities by means of which
they could quickly assess the need for their products, tax holidays, import substitution and interaction with big private and public business.
