The author describes a system of calculating and assessing effectiveness of risk management and overall performance of the firm based on the concept of economic value added. He suggests a way to adjust the economic value based on the concept of value at risk. The author brings pluses of this analytical method, identifies the main shortcomings and gives recommendations for minimizing their influence when making the calculations.
