Currently one of the most important and urgent problems in Russia is providing social welfare of the population in urban districts, the basis of which are financially stable companies. The article presents author’s definitions of the concept of «financial stability of enterprise». The author suggests an alternative methodology for assessing financial stability of an enterprise. The methodology should be used in strategic financial management of an urban district.
