The article describes special features of state support for the crop insurance in developed countries and the results of forming and reforming the insurance institution in Russia. The author shows the dynamics of efficiency indicators by the example of the Stavropol Region. The article also reveals the main problems impeding the full use of state support for business structures of the agrarian sector when insuring the crops.
