Abstract:

In the article the authors describe a new parameter claiming to solve such a difficult problem as assessment of the development potential which is called the «economic level of technology». It characterizes generalized, or economic and technological quality, both of a separate technology and of an aggregate of technologies representing at a macrolevel a generalized manner of production. Quantitatively this parameter estimates efficiency of the given kind of technology (economic and technological system) from the society’s point of view. On the qualitative side, it represents the «level of the applied knowledge».
