Abstract:

The country's food security is inextricably linked to the sustainability of the agricultural sector of the economy. The article deals with the concept of sustainable development of the industry. The organizational and economic mechanism for improving the sustainability of agricultural development through an active investment policy, indicators of rural development of territories and reproduction processes in the industry are highlighted. We analyzed trends in agricultural production in Smolensk region, using econometric models. The key factors of sustainable growth of the agricultural sector in the region are identified.
