The article presents the available official data on creative industries in Kazakhstan. The purpose of this paperwork is to determine the state of the Republic's creative industries. The study determines the size and location of the country's creative industries in the context of regional analysis, and reveals the levels of concentration of creative production in the cities of the Republic. Special attention is paid to the development of creative industries in two major cities of the country such as Nur-Sultan and Almaty. This work is the first experience of analyzing the formation of the creative sector taking into account official statistics. The national register of enterprises records 17,581 creative business sectors registered in Kazakhstan in January 2018, which is 3.8 % of the current national business. In January 2018, the gross number of registered enterprises related to the creative economy in Kazakhstan is more than the activity in the real estate and business services. Creative industries are a growing part of the business sector in Kazakhstan.
