Abstract:

The article discusses the role of rural areas in the processes of ensuring economic security of the country (the food aspect). The authors identify the causes of degradation of rural areas and its impact on weakening the country's food security. Special attention is paid to formation of integral system of management of development of rural territories development of the global goals of such a system, highlighting its objects and subjects, rules for the harmonization of the interests of the latter. The authors give the recommendations for the development of a single mechanism that includes a combination of tools targeting the preservation and development of natural-economic potential of rural areas and the strengthening of food independence of Russia.
