Abstract:

The article generalizes Zambian institutions for regulation of foreign investors’ activities and stipulation of economic growth. Purpose of the article is to analyze the investment code of Zambia and to explore the place of the Zambia Development Agency. This agency stimulates the inflow of foreign direct investments (FDI), assists exporters, micro- and small businesses, and manages multi-facility economic zones. Zambia wants to diversify her economy through the inflow of FDI into agriculture, services, and the energy sector. It is also important to continue importation of high-technology into mining, including the copper industry. The investment code has shown its constructive nature and has a potential for adoption of related legal acts and guidance papers. The scientific novelty consists of linking the diversified regional structure of multinational enterprises (MNE) operating in Zambia with prepared recommendations to Russian companies on utilization of the institutional basis of investment regulation in this country and advice to consider progressive opportunities of funding such profitable capital-intensive undertakings
