The markets of 18 countries, that are members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), or observers or dialogue partners, are important for Russian manufacturing exports and for strategic objectives in foreign trade with respect to export of machinery and equipment. The main factors of trade are the level of tariff protection, the logistics performance of the importing countries, conditions of trade, complementarity of the economies in trade. The scores from the international rankings by the World Bank and the World Economic Forum, as well as data from WTO and UNCTAD are used for the analysis. Correlation analysis has confirmed the negative impact of tariff protection, but the correlation ratio with respect to manufacturing exports is moderate, and for total exports it is insignificant. The level of development of transport-logistic infrastructure in the importing countries, a set of conditions that characterize their competitiveness may provide the most notable positive impact on Russian exports on that markets. The article may be of interest both for researchers and for federal government employees, developing and implementing strategies for international economic cooperation.
