Kurochkin Aleksandr Vyacheslavovich – (St Petersburg State University)
The article analyzes the key features of two macro-regional strategies of innovative development under the conditions of digitalization and global competition of national innovation systems. The author notes the key distinctive characteristics of the North-American and Northern European trajectories of innovative development in the aspect of socio-cultural characteristics, basic value systems underlying economic transformations, as well as their competitive advantages. The main emphasis is placed on the balance of innovative development strategies and its impact on the competitiveness of national economies, referred to the both models. The experience of the countries related to these models is crucial for adjusting the course of innovative development of modern Russia in the conditions of aggravation of political and economic competition, the sanctions regime and the search for internal reserves of growth indicators of socio-economic development of the country. The novelty of the proposed comparative approach lies in the identification of factors contributing to the convergence of macro-regional models of innovative development, as well as socio-cultural features that prevent the universalization of these models, i.e., preserving their macro-regional and partly national specificity.
