This article reviews the breakthrough technologies of the fourth technological mode in the digital agricultural sector of Russia. The purpose of the article is to review the basic concept of Industry 4.0, the number of new tools and methods used by intelligent agriculture to improve fields and the list of advantages of intelligent agricultural solutions. The object of the study are breakthrough technologies of the fourth industrial mode. The subject of the study is the process of application of breakthrough technologies of the fourth technological mode for digitalization of the agricultural sector of Russia. Research result. Industry 4.0 represents the fourth industrial revolution that has focused on automating manufacturing technologies such as cyber-physical systems, the Internet of things, artificial intelligence, and cloud and cognitive computing. Intelligent agriculture uses advanced technologies, such as sensors, devices, machines and information technology, robots, GPS technology, which will allow farms to be more profitable, efficient, safe and environmentally friendly. Digitalization of agricultural production of the Russian Federation should provide for the next 3-7 years the growth of crop production and animal husbandry up to 1.5 times in 2025; improvement of products quality; reduction of labour intensity of agricultural production by 1.5 times in 2025; reduction of costs and price; reduction of energy and materials costs; yield increases, for example, in crop production by 1.4 times; reduction of import dependence of agricultural machinery, their hardware and software; promotion of automation, robotics, intelligent machine technologies. The aim of the digitalization of agriculture is to achieve a significant increase in the efficiency and stability of its operation due to drastic changes in the quality management of technological processes and decision-making processes at all levels of the hierarchy based on modern production methods and further use of information about managed elements and subsystems, as well as economic environment of agriculture. The introduction of digital technologies in the agro-industrial complex will dramatically increase productivity and reduce risks in agriculture. In today's highly competitive environment, digitalization will give the Russian agricultural industry a great competitive advantage.
