In the course of the research, based on the analysis of forecasts of leading analytical agencies and major oil companies, as well as special literature, modern trends in the development of the oil industry on the example of the Samara region are studied. Logical, systematic and statistical analysis of the oil industry of the region on the basis of publicly available official sources of information have been used as the research methods. As a result, the authors systematized the development trends of the oil industry of the Samara region at the present stage. Industry-wide, organizational, investment, structural trends are highlighted. The scientific and practical significance of the study lies in the fact that its results can form the basis of forecasts for the development of the oil industry and energy in the region and the country as a whole. In particular, the government of the Samara region is interested in the results of the study.
