The article proposes an algorithm for assessing the effectiveness of regional policy in tourism using the author's methodology. Also, the target indicators for assessing the effectiveness of regional policy in tourism are proposed, namely: the development of the hotel business; the development of the tourist business; the profitability of the tourism and hospitality industry; the popularity of the regional tourist product. The evaluation is proposed to be carried out in three stages. At the first stage, with the help of the presented methodology, a point assessment of the effectiveness of the tourist policy is given. At the second stage, an expert survey of representatives of the tourism industry is conducted in order to identify the most significant problems that hinder the development of tourism in the region. The final stage of the study is a sociological survey, the purpose of which is to determine the level of motivation of local residents to the consumption of regional tourism products and their views on the factors impeding the development of tourism in the region. The presented algorithm for assessing the effectiveness of regional policy has been tested in the regions of the Russian Arctic and practical recommendations for improving the tourism policy in the Murmansk region are presented.
