Abstract:

Attraction of new direct investments in the national economy can promote its modernization and transition to innovative way of development. Hence follows the necessity of constant learning of new manifestations of the phenomenon of direct foreign investments (DFI). One of the most important aspects of DFI potential usage today is to attract technological innovations. The Author presents the three-step model, which explains behavior of a foreign investor on the micro-level. The proposed model considers the problem of attraction of DFI, stimulation of participation of a foreign agent in R&D and activations of the mechanism of technology assimilation by national companies.
