The article is devoted to the urgent need to use a variety of innovative processes in the activities of modern enterprises in order to obtain sustainable competitive advantages in the near and long term. The factors influencing efficiency of innovative processes and the reasons which brake introduction and use of innovations are considered. The authors reveal the concepts of innovative activity and innovative potential and their interrelation. Three types of innovations, the most significant for enterprises, as well as the principles on which the program of implementation of innovative processes in modern enterprises should be built, are presented. In general, the problem of developing an innovative strategy of the organization is considered.
