Abstract:

The article considers the approaches of studying the phenomenon of "shadow economy". The existing problems of studying the influence of the shadow economy on the national economy are shown. The positive aspects of the economic function of the shadow economy are revealed. The scale of distribution of the shadow sector in the context of regions is revealed. A working hypothesis about the existence of a positive relationship between the amount of funds involved in the informal sector of the economy and the competitiveness of the region is put forward.
